i’m not sure if i’m ashamed to say this (not really), but i’ve pretty much purchased every single item that skims has ever released. that being said, there are some purchases that i’ve been wildly disappointed by and others that i bought in every color and now wear multiple times a week. i’ll always be a ride or die for skims, but i’m here to give you a brutally honest review of all the products i own, to help you avoid wasting your coin on gifts that aren’t worth it for yourself or your loved ones this holiday season π
disclaimer: these are just my humble opinions and feel free to buy and try any products you like, but i’m only hyperlinking the products that i personally love and think are worth it because i don’t condone promoting things that genuinely are not worth spending money on
let’s start with the positives first, the fits everybody bodysuits <3333
i will rave about these ’til the day i die. i’ve tried many bodysuits, but none have ever came close to how comfortable and flattering these are. the material is stretchy, thick and great quality. you don’t have to worry about wearing a bra and they also snatch you like no other. for the price, they are a well worth your coin.
fits everybody and cotton jersey underwear
after you put your bodysuit in your cart, you gotta get the 3 for 36$ underwear deal. but fair warning, once you do this you’ll probably never go back. i now refuse to buy underwear from any other brand because of how comfortable, not to mention adorable, these are. they have sets of 5 which also give you a bang for your buck or make a great gift / stocking stuffer.
cotton jersey t-shirts and long sleeves
these staples are definitely worth your money and are thick, comfy, and super flattering. warning: if you’re a chronic sweater, like me, the light colors show sweat stains, but i probably own every dark color that kimberly has ever came out with in this collection.
i finally bought this during the last skims sale this past summer and it snatches you just like the fits everybody bodysuits. its a perfect staple to keep in your closet for the summer and you can even layer it and wear it during the colder months!
these are another great staple to have on hand, they’re affordable and made of a thick material that you don’t have to wear a bra with. i sized down for the snatching effect and it’s super flattering without being restricting. they also have 3-packs which make a great gift for the holidays!
was skeptical about this but ended up loving it. i wear it much more than i thought i would because its super cute to lounge around in and offers just the right amount of support to wear in place of a regular bra.
boyfriend loose pant and boxers
these are an underrated skims item in my opinion. they are so comfortable to lounge around in, but also cute enough to wear out of the house. i personally prefer these boxers over the cotton rib ones, but they run super big so i’d definitely recommend sizing down.
when i first received this i was very disappointed, because upon first glance it looks like the cheapest, most pathetic bra ever. its made of a thin, almost sheer, soft jersey material and is also wired, so it gives you light support. it’s like a hybrid between a bra and a bralette, but leaning a little more towards a bra. i’ve come to really appreciate it and wear it a lot more than i thought i would because i barely feel it when its on, yet it still gives a good lift and support.
now first up on the overhyped, not so great products list is the fits everybody t-shirt
if there’s one thing i’d avoid wasting your money on, it’d be this. the material is superrr thin to the point where it’s basically impossible to wear no matter what you do: bra or not, dark or light color. the cotton jersey is much more flattering and worth it, and i honestly don’t even know what the point of making these were. also while on this topic, i’m 90% sure that the fits everybody material used to make these is completely different from the one used to make the bodysuits and the dresses because…. hello???
cotton fleece hoodies and sweats
another majorly overhyped item. if you are looking for a good quality sweat set, go to aritzia and spend your coin on the tna mega cozy collection (the absolute best). if you’re gonna buy this, you might as well amazon prime a gilden set to your doorstep. the material is thin and feels so cheap. not to mention the sizing is also completely off – the top of my set was tiny and the bottoms were wayyyyy too oversized.
picot, cotton logo, and cotton rib underwear
i’ve found that any of the underwear with trim (except the fits everybody lace) runs small and is unflattering. but if you’re adamant about getting a certain pair, i’d recommend sizing up and i’m sure they would be fine.
fits everybody strapless push up bra
runs small and is super uncomfortable, there’s definitely better strapless bras out there. i do want to try the tear drop regular bra though!!
boyfriend long sleeves / t-shirts
the boyfriend collection material is very soft and comfortable, but for some reason all of the shirts i own have wrinkled super easily and are unflattering on me. i only ever wear them to bed, but i wouldn’t bother wasting your coin on these, you’re better off stealing your boyfriends.
cotton jersey shorts
i got these as a gift, but the material is super thin and the cut is not flattering at all. i’m not sure if anyone even considers buying these but if so, don’t bother.
cotton rib leggings and boxers
i personally think both are unflattering, especially the leggings. the boxers look cute as a set with the matching bra, but they aren’t that comfortable to lounge and sleep in.
new vintage long sleeve
my friend gave this to me and it’s the most basic long sleeve there is. the material is thin and you have to wear a bra, so nothing special and worth spending your money on. if you want a long sleeve, opt for the cotton jersey ones.
fits everybody lace scoop bralette
runs small and isn’t very flattering. maybe if you size up it’d be cute, but not really worth it in my opinion.
happy shopping!
xoxo,
jm
